About Giovanna
Who makes Giovanna Gelato?
Giovanna Gelato e Sorbet is owned and operated by Kejsis Desserts LLC, a small-batch artisan gelato and sorbet manufacturer based in Malden, Massachusetts. Our products are inspired by classic Italian gelato-making traditions and are available in more than 120 stores, scoop shops, fine restaurants, hotels, and catering services throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
How is Giovanna gelato made?
Every batch is made in small quantities using original recipes, premium ingredients, and locally sourced produce whenever possible. Each pint is hand-packed at our Malden facility. Flavors range from classic Italian (tiramisu, espresso, stracciatella) to Latin-inspired (dulce de leche) to modern creations (sea salt caramel), plus seasonal releases throughout the year.
Flavors & Products
How many flavors do you make?
We currently offer 36 gelato flavors and 30 sorbet flavors in 16 oz pints, plus 8-inch gelato cakes in 6 signature flavors (with custom options on request). Browse the full lineup on our Gelato Pints and Sorbet Pints pages.
What are your bestsellers?
Our most-loved gelato is Pistacchio, and among sorbets it's Chocolate Covered Strawberry — a dairy-free favorite. Other classics: Tiramisu, Sea Salt Caramel, Stracciatella, Dulce de Leche, and our real-fruit Mango and Passion Fruit sorbets.
Do you have seasonal flavors?
Yes. Seasonal releases include Apple Cider Sorbet, Pumpkin Pie Gelato, Candy Cane Gelato, and White Chocolate Cranberry Gelato, among others.
Dietary & Allergens
Do you have dairy-free options?
Yes — every one of our 30 sorbet flavors is dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, and vegan. Sorbets are made with real fruit, contain no high-fructose corn syrup, and run 90–130 calories per ½-cup serving. All sorbets are fat-free except Chocolate Sorbet and Coconut Sorbet, and most are Kosher/Parve.
Which flavors contain nuts?
Flavors that contain or may contain nuts include Pistacchio, Hazelnut, Gianduia, Amaretto, Dulce de Leche Stracciatella, and our Spumoni cake. For a specific allergen statement on any flavor, please email info@giovannagelato.com — we're happy to send full ingredient information.
Which flavors are alcohol-inspired?
Several flavors are named after classic alcohol pairings: Amaretto, Irish Cream, Rum Raisin, Zabajone, Peach Bellini Sorbet, Raspberry Champagne Sorbet, and Strawberry Champagne Sorbet. For exact alcohol content, please contact us before ordering.
Are your products kosher?
Most of our sorbets are Kosher/Parve, with the exception of selected flavors. For a definitive answer on a specific flavor, please email us.
Sizes & Packaging
What sizes do you offer?
Our retail packs are 16 oz pints (473 mL), sold individually or by the case (8 pints per case). For wholesale accounts we also offer 5-liter pan liners and individual servings in 4 oz and 6 oz cups.
How should I store my gelato at home?
Keep it frozen at -18°C to -20°C (0°F to -4°F) — the coldest setting on most home freezers. Enjoy within the use-by date printed on the pint. Product quality and safety can be affected if it's left out or stored above this temperature.
Delivery & Pickup
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island for both retail and wholesale orders. Enter your address at checkout to confirm availability. For addresses outside this area, please email info@giovannagelato.com.
Do you ship nationwide?
Nationwide shipping isn't part of our standard service. Because our products are perishable and shipped frozen, we currently focus on regional delivery to protect quality. Please reach out if you have a special request.
Is local pickup available?
Please call 617-741-7373 or email info@giovannagelato.com to arrange pickup from our Malden facility.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. We're not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, or events outside our control. Once products are handed to the carrier, title and risk of loss pass to you — please make sure to receive and freeze your order promptly.
Wholesale
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. Giovanna sells small-batch gelatos and sorbets wholesale to grocery stores, cafes, gelato shops, fine restaurants, hotels, and catering facilities throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
How do I apply for a wholesale account?
Please fill out our short Wholesale Application and our team will follow up within 2–3 business days to discuss flavors, pricing, packaging, and delivery. Wholesale pricing is only visible to approved, logged-in account holders.
Can you make custom flavors for our restaurant?
Yes. For restaurants and hotel banquet facilities, our team works directly with chefs and pastry chefs to design custom flavors. Past custom creations have included Japanese plum, truffle, and marshcotti (a marshmallow-and-biscotti gelato). Reach out through the Wholesale Application or email info@giovannagelato.com.
Cakes & Catering
How do I order a gelato cake?
Our 8-inch gelato cakes are made with a fresh chocolate-sponge base and a layer of gelato, artfully decorated to match the flavor. Standard flavors:
- Chocolate
- Chocolate Chip
- Cookies and Cream
- Dulce de Leche
- Gianduia (hazelnut + chocolate, similar to Nutella)
- Spumoni (3 layers: Pistacchio, Cream, and Strawberry)
Custom flavors are available on request. To place an order, email info@giovannagelato.com or call 617-741-7373. Cakes come in square paper boxes, or clear plastic display containers on request.
Do you cater events?
Yes — we set up gelato stations for private events, corporate events, weddings, hotel banquets, and college/university functions across MA, RI, and NH. Please email info@giovannagelato.com or call 617-741-7373 with your event date, headcount, and location for a proposal.
Orders & Refunds
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. If you can't find it, share your order number with our team via chat or email and we'll help.
Can I cancel or change an order?
Please review your order carefully before submitting. Because our products are made in small batches, we may not be able to accommodate cancellation or changes after an order is accepted. Contact us as soon as possible if you need help.
What is your refund policy?
Because our products are perishable frozen items, all sales are final once an order leaves our facility. We do not accept physical returns.
Refunds, replacements, or store credit are issued only when Giovanna Gelato is at fault — for example:
- The wrong flavor or item was shipped.
- A pint arrived damaged due to a packaging or handling error on our end.
- A product was defective or spoiled before its use-by date despite being kept in proper frozen storage at -18°C to -20°C (0°F to -4°F) after delivery.
Refunds are not issued for issues outside our control, including but not limited to:
- Products left unrefrigerated, thawed, or refrozen after delivery.
- Products stored above the recommended freezer temperature.
- Products that were not received on time because no one was available to accept the delivery, or because an incorrect shipping address was provided.
- Carrier or weather-related delays outside of our control.
- Buyer's remorse, flavor preference, or change of mind.
How do I request a refund?
If you believe Giovanna Gelato is at fault, contact us within 48 hours of delivery by phone (617-741-7373) or email (info@giovannagelato.com). Include your order number and clear photos of the product's condition and packaging. Our team will review and, if approved, issue a refund, replacement, or store credit to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Requests submitted after 48 hours, or without supporting documentation, may not be eligible.
